Suso: Ex-Milan boss Mihajlovic didn´t like me

AC Milan winger Suso believes former head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic did not like him, having struggled for game time during the Torino boss  spell at San Siro.

Suso arrived in Milan in 2015, signed from Liverpool during Filippo Inzaghi s spell in charge, but he quickly lost his place in the team after Mihajlovic s arrival and was loaned to Genoa.

The 23-year-old could not understand the ex-Lazio star s decision, insisting Mihajlovic simply must not have liked him.

[Mihajlovic] played me against Empoli at home I was dead, I wasn t fit, Suso told Gazzetta dello Sport.

My legs were not working, I felt rusty. After an hour, he took me off and I didn t play anymore from that moment. I trained well, maybe better than I am now, but I didn t play and I didn t un…

´It´s different at PSG´ – Mbappe enjoying ´freedom´ of France system under Deschamps

Kylian Mbappe has a lot more freedom playing for France alongside a traditional striker compared to at Paris Saint-Germain, where he is flanked by Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The 23-year-old opened the scoring in Thursday s 2-0 win over Austria as France picked up their first Nations League win of the campaign at the fifth attempt.

Mbappe, who had an early strike ruled out for offside, was played in by a perfect Olivier Giroud pass and blasted in his 28th international goal in 58 appearances.

He led the way for shots (seven), shots on target (three) and touches in the opposition box (10), while no player created more chances than the PSG forward s three.

After producing an all-action display alongside Giroud, who became France s oldest goalscorer with his se…

Chelsea sign Mohamed Salah; Newcastle reject Cabaye bid from PSG

Chelsea have completed the signing of Egypt international winger Mohamed Salah from Swiss Super League giants FC Basel, according to the club s official website, .

Salah, 21, caught the eye of Blues manager Jose Mourinho after scoring in both group matches against Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.

The highly-rated 21-year-old was expected to sign for Liverpool during the January transfer window but has instead put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

I like the fact that he can play the same way our attacking players do, which is players with adaptability, to play right, left or behind the striker, said Mourinho on Friday.

He s young, he s fast, he s creative, he s enthusiastic. When we analysed him he loo…

Eagles QB Wentz unsure he´ll be cleared to play opener

Carson Wentz is feeling good with his progress in training camp but the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is unsure if he will be ready for week one of the NFL season.

Wentz is coming off an anterior cruciate ligament injury that ended his 2017 NFL season after 13 games and forced him to miss Philadelphia s Super Bowl triumph.

The star received clearance last week to participate in 11-on-11 drills, although he has not been approved for contact yet.

When Wentz receives that clearance is up to team doctors. And with only 17 days remaining until the Eagles season opener against the Atlanta Falcons on September 6, time is running out.

The final hurdle, which will not be my decision, will be being cleared for contact, Wentz told reporters on Monday.

1860 Munich sign Nsereko on loan

Young German forward Savio Nsereko has returned to the club where he started his career by signing for 1860 Munich on loan. The 20 year old Kampala born starlet, who is currently contracted to Italian outfit Fiorentina, will spend the 2010-11 season with the Lions in the 2.Bundesliga.

As mentioned before, Nsereko started off with 1860 Munich before transferring to Brescia in 2005 at the tender age of 16. Some eye catching performances in Italy earned him a move north to England as West Ham United secured his services. However he was not really able to settle at Upton Park and was shipped back to Italy the same year.

Nsereko was part of the German squad that won the 2008 UEFA European U-19 championships in the Czech Republic.

Guardiola wary of United threat

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is insistent that Manchester United have the quality to upset his side at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Holders Bayern are firm favourites for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, despite it being played in Manchester.

The Bavarian giants have swept aside all before them this term, with the Bundesliga title already sealed in record time.

They have lost just once in 41 outings this term and face a United side who languish seventh in the Premier League and have lost seven home games in all competitions this season.

Guardiola is wary of David Moyes side though, and says the firepower at his counterpart s disposal such as Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata could result in a surprise.

He said: Manchester United are one …

Lovren denies any wrongdoing after perjury charge

Liverpool and Croatia defender Dejan Lovren has denied any wrongdoing following a charge of perjury in his homeland.

The 29-year-old is alleged to have provided a false testimony in the trial of former Dinamo Zagreb director Zdravko Mamic in September 2017.

Mamic was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for corruption in June, with a court ruling he had made illegal profits on player transfers.

Real Madrid star Luka Modric was also charged with perjury earlier this year in relation to the same case. The Croatian Football Association (HNS) said at the time of the charge that it was deeply convinced of Modric s innocence.

In relation to his own situation, Lovren issued a statement on Instagram: After coming from training this afternoon, I learned how…

Rangers 3/5 to score over 1.5 goals against Livingston in Sunday’s Premiership matchup

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Rangers to score over 1.5 goals

Odds: 3/5 @

With another chance to widen their buffer over Celtic, Rangers will make the trip to the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday afternoon as they look to make another statement.

Starting with the hosts, while Livingston might have shocked many when opening 2020 during last year’s interrupted campaign, it has been a worrying start for Gary Holt’s men this time around. Showing some of the issues that haunted them at the back end before the 2019 campaign was brought to an early finish, the Yellows have managed to collect just a single point from their opening three Premiership outings. Despite managing to come from behind and grab a point against fellow strugglers Motherwell …

Hart plans to play for keeps with England football

Joe Hart believes he has the ability to finally end England s long search for a goalkeeper capable of earning headlines for heroics rather than howlers.

Ever since Arsenal keeper David Seaman retired from international football in 2002, England have struggled to find a top-class replacement as bad luck and bad form left a string of contenders flat on their backs.

Now Manchester City star Hart is being tipped to be his country s first choice for the next decade as he prepares for his competitive debut against Bulgaria on Friday after rising from third-choice during the World Cup to first-choice for the Euro 2012 qualifiers.

It is a big test for the 23-year-old because he knows so many others have tried and failed over the years.

Southampton 1 Liverpool 6: Sturridge and Origi inspire Reds romp

Daniel Sturridge scored twice on his return from injury and Divock Origi opened his Liverpool account with a hat-trick as Jurgen Klopp s men stormed into the League Cup semi-finals with a 6-1 demolition of Southampton.

Ronald Koeman s team started in sensational fashion at St Mary s Stadium as Sadio Mane headed them into a first-minute lead and there was little indication of the thrashing to come as Liverpool initially responded in a listless fashion.

All that changed when Sturridge, making his first start since the October Merseyside derby that heralded the end of Brendan Rodgers Anfield reign, fired them level after 25 minutes.

Sturridge soon added a second courtesy of a showreel assist from Emre Can and Origi turned in an Alberto Moreno shot in the final m…
